Dunbar Trust
In March 1999 Sandy Dunbar formed The Dunbar Trust.
The Trust assets comprised the farm at Mission Road and some rental properties in Whanganui along with some cash investments.
Sandy gave the land to encourage Christian Education and youth development, with the vision to reforest the banks of the Kumete stream.
When Sandy died in December 1999 the Mission Road farm was leased to a neighbouring farmer.
Upgrading the rental properties began and all now meet the Healthy Homes standards.
Planning for the establishment of the forest began early in 2010 with the planting of the trees over 2 years.
The forest is now well established and will be available for visitors, whether individuals or groups.
The Trustees continue to uphold Christian values and the values in our Trust Deed. As part of this we make regular donations to a number of local Christian youth organisations.
Our Trustees are Bryan Feist, Hugh Reid, John Tripe, Amanda Manville, and Stuart Bruce.
